DRIVING MISS DAISY
written by Alfred Uhry
directed by Elizabeth Elliott
| This Pulitzer Prize-winning play tells the story of a
unique relationship between a feisty, elderly Southern lady
and the black chauffeur whose driving she initially resists.
His wisdom and kindness gradually wears her down, however,
as we watch their adventures laced with humor and
tenderness. The screen version, starring Jessica Tandy and
Morgan Freeman, won an Oscar for best picture in 1990. It’s
a feel-good show you don’t want to miss! |
General Admission – $16
Silver Foxes (60+) – $14

We Rolled Out The Red Carpet
Again! ...
... And all the S.T.A.R.s came out! It was our
fourth Red Carpet Night, but actually our 18th annual awards event
(formerly known as Christmas Gift). The S.T.A.R.s (Supporters,
Techies, Artists, and Roundabouts) came up the ramp on a red carpet
(literally!) and were greeted by board members decked out in formal
wear. It was a special evening of recognizing every member of the
theatre family for their volunteerism and contributions.
First all the gathered “clan” was treated to a champagne buffet and
awards presentations, followed by a musical preview of Oklahoma!,
the opening production of our 40th anniversary season! Awarded
Spotlight trophies for their technical theatre work were Linda
Gosnell, Cathy Clark, Jennifer Godfrey, Paul Godfrey, and Jessica
Cummins. And receiving our highest honor, the Standing Ovation
Award, was Patrick Ricci for a body of work over several years worth
of theatre renovations, marketing, and public relations. We consider
him one of the brightest jewels in our crown!
To say the least, the evening was a great success! |
